Our History
Wayco Environmental traces its roots to Wayco Excavating, founded by Wayne Weidman in the 1970s. Starting with a single Case backhoe, Wayne built a strong reputation in the Eckville area, specializing in septic systems, utility installations, and oil and gas projects, including pipeline installation and cattle guard construction.
Chris, who collaborated with Wayne throughout his career, recognized an opportunity in decommissioning and acquired Wayco Excavating in 2020. Under Chris’s leadership, the company evolved into Wayco Environmental Inc., focusing on facility decommissioning, pipeline abandonment, hydrocarbon removal, and environmental remediation.
Today, Wayco Environmental operates from Chris’s farm near Eckville, serving projects throughout Alberta from single-well decommissions to complex oil and gas facility removals.

Wayco Environmental Owner
Chris began his career in 2000 in pipeline construction before transitioning to operations for a local oil company. In 2008, he founded CLI Consulting Ltd. to manage pipeline and facility projects. In 2020, recognizing the growing need for decommissioning services, he acquired and rebranded Wayco Excavating as Wayco Environmental Inc., dedicated to environmental and industrial cleanup solutions.
